“Your new to this….How would you know?!”
This is what my lawyer said to me when I came in for a consult. My soon to be ex-husband was a no show to the third rescheduled appointment at a Mediation Establishment, in efforts to save money, that would be our first actual appointment.
I realized that I would have to just get a lawyer, like most do. It was a good thing I did……things happen for a reason.
I have funny stories but I also have experience in the courtroom with and without a lawyer that has proved to be invaluable to me and if I knew what I know now, I would have felt a lot more in control in a very out of control situation.
This will also be one of the most difficult times in your life.
Now you can take advantage of all the mistakes I made so you don’t have to do them yourself!!!
I will also set you straight on what is realistic and what is fantasy when it comes to the law of divorce and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with it.
Remember all states are different when it comes to the law and divorce there is also political influences as well. e.g. in New York (where I am from) they side with the moms and females for the most part but in Arizona they are more sympathetic to the dads then NY.
I will be posting stories of experience as well as information about how what you can do yourself (because we all are not an endless well of money) and what you should let your lawyer do for you especially when assets are being divided and you are looking to make your own money and pay for the expenses of divorce that come with it.
RULE # 1 : GET SUPPORT whether it be from family or friends it is SUPER IMPORTANT!!!
I am here for your journey…
